At The Plantation, "bed and breakfast" is at its best with English hospitality enhanced with American preferences. Under new ownership and formerly well-known in the Punxsutawney area as the "Plantation Motel," this historical home is well-suited for guests. In the separate guest wing of the home are six rooms, each with private baths, DISH TV (we have new flat screens in all the rooms), and A/C. The large, comfortable rooms are decorated with old world charm. An area is provided where guests can make coffee, store cold drinks, or use the microwave at anytime of the day or night. A guest phone is provided in the foyer, and we've added a laptop computer in the parlor for our guests' convenience, as well as wireless internet connection. Photos of the verandah, gazebo and Bedrooms. Photos of the house, gardens, fountains, and labyrinth.
Important Note: "We try to make our guests as comfortable as possible. However, this old brick house was built around 1856 and has limited access for handicaped guests. We have accommodated them in the past, however there are steps when entering the building and due to structure has limited possibilities. Please phone before making a reservation so that we can discuss whether or not we can reasonably make accommodations in this old house to suit your needs." |
You can truly relax if you linger on the wide, shady verandah, in comfortable white wicker chairs, while listening to the gurgling fountain. Wander through the gardens to the gazebo, then take a short path through the beautiful woods to the labyrinth. You may make a selection from our attic library and spend a little time with an interesting book. |

In the morning, the china and silver gleam as you enjoy the home-cooked breakfast in the newly remodeled parlor, featuring some classic favorites such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, homegrown blueberries in crumpets or pancakes, french toast, homemade granola, muffins or banana bread, fried tomatoes, fruit, juice, and Gevalia coffee. When I was in Ecuador I went to see Villa De Los Sueños Bed and Breakfast and it is amazing. If you are looking for great sunsets, walks on the beach, warm weather or just a romantic place to hang out, this is it. The prices are incredible for what you get. It is owned by a wonderful couple, Shell and Marsha. |
