This room is also offered as the Honeymoon/Anniversary Suite featuring additional amenities and opportunities to prepare the room with your own romantic touches. Private Bathrooms, A/C, DISH TV, Wireless Internet, Hairdryers

The Old World decor in the house, many antiques, and warm earthy colors in the bedrooms, as well as the softly draped fabrics and accessories are reminiscent of old movies about safaris and adventures in other lands.

Your hostess, Julie, brings her unique style to the house while her years of living in South Africa, Australia and Great Britain add the charm. The rooms are on the second floor, except for the Colonial American room which is right off the lounge on the first level and preferable to guests who have difficulty with stairs. In the separate guest wing of the home, each of the large bedrooms has its own bathroom.

Guests enjoy our new single-serving pod coffee and tea maker in the upstairs hall, and are encouraged to use the downstairs parlor where a fireplace warms the space seasonally. Our guests may use the small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot for refreshments anytime, day or night. The parlor is a comfortable space to use the wireless internet connection, as well as in some of the bedrooms.

We have recently added a laptop computer in this room for our guests' convenience. We also have a small library area on the third floor.Breakfast is served buffet-style in the dining area, and we try to accomodate your schedule.

The large covered verandah is a pleasant place to relax, or take a walk to the hammock under the old silver maple trees and enjoy some time in the gardens. We have added a large gazebo, labyrinth, and fire pit to enhance the gardens for our guests. In the photos below, notice the addition of our new Groundhog Suite which provides two very quiet, spacious rooms for your comfort along with a private bathroom.

Kindle the romance when you purchase the Honeymoon/Anniversary package and get extras such as sparkling wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and flowers (Julie will let you know what's available seasonally, and how you can prepare the rooms with additional surprises for your loved one when you plan ahead by calling Julie at (814) 939-7371.)

Important Note: "We try to make our guests as comfortable as possible. However, this old brick house was built around 1856 and has limited access for handicaped guests. We have accommodated them in the past, however there are steps when entering the building and due to structure has limited possibilities. Please phone before making a reservation so that we can discuss whether or not we can reasonably make accommodations in this old house to suit your needs."
